Dr. McHenry is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, as well as a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon the honor society for dentists. He attended the prestigious Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (currently ranked in the top 10 dental schools nationwide) where he obtained both his dental and specialty orthodontic degrees graduating summa cum-laude and making the Dean’s list all 11 semesters. In 2005 when he graduated, Dr McHenry received the NSU College of Dental Medicine Student of the Year Award, the top honor a student can receive. Dr McHenry also served as Student Body President while at Nova and placed in the top 1% on the National Board Exam.
In 2004 Dr McHenry worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD as a research fellow in the Pain and Neurosensory Mechanisms Branch of the NIDCR. Dr McHenry has had his research presented at the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery Annual Meeting in Coolum, Australia, the Florida Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association annual meeting in Jupiter, FL, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association annual meeting in Vancouver, BC, the National Institutes of Health summer research program in Bethesda, MD, the Southern Association of Orthodontics annual meeting in Ft Lauderdale, FL, as well as the American Association of Orthodontist in 2008 at their Annual Session in Denver, CO where Dr McHenry received special recognition and was awarded for his outstanding research. Dr McHenry has also published many articles in various professional journals.
Following his dental training Dr McHenry was employed at Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital where he worked in conjunction with Plastic and Neurosurgeons as part of the Cleft and Craniofacial team repairing congenital anomalies in young children.
Dr. Adams has been practicing dentistry since 2006. He attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL with Dr. McHenry and graduated in 2006 with highest honors. He was part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and won Peer Tutoring awards while at Nova Southeastern University. He received his certificate in orthodontics in 2008 at St Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a part of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association as well as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Adams has done a dental service mission to Brazil and has organized and participated in several sealant and oral health education programs at various elementary schools.
He is married with 3 children and they have one dog (a Chihuahua). He enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and doing water sports.
